"Just Believe" by Darius Merstein and Dagmar Hellberg
This is really nice! It sounds a little bit like Frank Wildhorn's style, but also like a dramatic singer-songwriter number. I found that composition very lively and it has a very dramatic musical sytle. The voices are beautiful as well. Although the piano suits it well, I'd like to hear that song with a big orchestration.
"Tire Tracks" from Whistle down the Wind, sung by Ken Posey & Leah delos Santos
Was it from Aida or the Rocky Horror Show? I don't have a clue, but anyway this was really an amazing Rock´n Pop song. It was pure fun. Very good voices. He has a great high range and he knows how to control his voice, and hers is great as well.
"Miami Nights Medles" sung by the Düsseldorf premiere cast
The 80's! I loved those days and I'm a real 80's freak. I'd love to be in a musical like this someday. Obviously this comes from "Miami Nights" and I really liked it. It is well produced and well arranged. The voices and back up vocals are great, too. The choice of songs is good and I especially liked this version of "The rhythm is gonna get you".
"The shades of night are growing" from Elisabeth sung by Maik Lohse and Bernie Blanks
This was the first flop! I disliked all of it, disliked the voices and the arrangements. I've sung that song more than 200 times now, and you could make something different with it, but it would be difficult. In this version it sounds like the producers couldn't decide if they wanted to make it a rock or a pop song. I miss the emotion and I miss the drama. The only interesting thing about it was the English translation.
"Why" from "Tick, boom...bang" by the original New York Cast
At the beginning of the song it sounds a little bit cheap. The piano simply doesn't sound real. But then it becomes a really good rock piece. The style of the singer's voices reminds me of Rent. I've seen the Swedish production, and I liked it, but I think it can only really work on Broadway.
